Need a hand?

Answers to the usual questions are below. If yours isn't here, write to us at support@augrym.com and a person will answer within [two working days].

Playing

How do I start?

Tap Play. That's all: no email and no password. You get an avatar and a name straight away, and the first Help Wanted sign is a few steps from where you land.

How do I change my grade?

Open Settings › Grade and pick the one that fits. The questions change to match, everywhere in the game. When you're acing your grade, the game may suggest the next one up; it's always your choice.

I keep getting a question wrong. What now?

Tap the ? on the question card for a hint that explains the idea without giving the answer. A wrong answer costs three seconds and resets your streak, and your augies are always safe. Easier questions never run out, so try a few of those and come back.

How do I get a new name?

Tap Me, the second tile in the row at the top right, and pick a new name from the list. Names can't be typed, so every name in the game is a friendly one.

Pals

How do I become Pals with somebody?

Go to the same place in the game, tap them and ask Want to be Pals?. They answer Yes or Not now. There are no codes or links to share.

How do I stop being Pals?

Open their card, tap Stop being Pals and confirm. They aren't told; you simply leave each other's lists.

Somebody is bothering me in the game.

Nobody can type to you, and only Pals can invite you or send you a line. If somebody is a Pal and you'd rather they weren't, stop being Pals. If anything still worries you, write to support@augrym.com with their display name and the place you saw them, and we'll look into it.

Your player and your devices

How do I play on a second device?

On the new device, tap I already have a player on the start screen. It shows a code. On the device you already play on, approve it by typing the code or scanning it. That's it.

My phone was lost or replaced. Can I get my player back?

Yes, if the player was on an account. Set one up in Settings › Account while you still have the device; then you can sign in on a new one with a code sent to the account's email. A player with no account lives only on its device, so it can't be recovered if the device is gone.

Why does the account ask for a year of birth?

Only to decide whose email the account should use. Below the age of digital consent where you live, it has to be a parent's or guardian's. It isn't shown to anybody. See Privacy.

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings › Account and choose to delete it. You'll be asked twice. It deletes every player on the account, on every device, straight away, and it can't be undone.

No account? Write to privacy@augrym.com and we'll delete the player for you. [Confirm the route for players without an account.]

For parents

Where do I see how my child is doing?

Open Settings › Report in the app. It shows the topics they try, how accurate they are in each, and where they're reaching above what they've mastered. Nothing in it is compared to anybody else.

Does Augrym cost anything, or sell anything?

[Price and business model at launch.] Augies, the game's currency, are never sold. They can only be earned by answering questions.

Can my child talk to strangers?

No one can type anything in Augrym. Players use a wheel of friendly phrases and emotes, and anything aimed at one person only reaches a Pal. Read more on For parents.
